UK PANEL'S CHOICE

Panels are formed by five or six industry experts, among them publishers, translators, academics, critics and booksellers. Panellists change every edition to allow as many people as possible to be part of the project. The panel meets twice, and decisions are based on their knowledge, experience and intuition, as well as on readers ́ reports commissioned by this office. Members of the panel reach their decisions with complete independence.

After two years of virtual meetings, it was great to meet the panel face-to-face. The panel for the 2022 edition was formed by Aude Bolechala (bookseller specialising in children's books and manager of Nomad Books in London), Catherine Mansfield (translator and communications professional) Gary McKeone (Programme Director at St George’s House, Windsor Castle), Helen Weir (Senior Editor at Two Hoots, an illustrated imprint of Pan Macmillan) and Juliet Mabey (co-founder of Oneworld Publications). The following people have translated book summaries or/and written reports for this issue: Beth Fowler , Chris Moss , Christina Macsweeney , Faye Williams , Hebe Powell , Izzie Kaufeler, Jacob Rogers , Joe Williams , Judith Willis , Laura McGloughlin , Lindsey Ford , Mara Faye Lethem , Miranda France , Nick Caistor , Peter Bush , Rahul Bery , Richard Mansell , and Suky Taylor.
