SYNOPSIS

Marina thought that, as always, life was treating her unfairly. That summer she wouldn’t even get a whiff of the sea. She had had to go without, because she had failed at school; while her perfect, pretty elder sister, Ángela, would be having a great time in Ireland practising her English and snogging her hunky Irish boyfriend, Patrick.

For C.C., things were not going much better. Her obnoxious progenitors, in a display of pedagogy, had decided to ban any contact whatsoever with her computer games and force her to spend the summer in Ireland, staying with a computerless family. The thing is C.C. is a real freak, whose parallel, virtual life totally fulfils her.

Meanwhile, the magic world of the Tuatha De Danann is stirring on the eve of the traditional harvest parade. The monarchs are supposed to be there, but Finvana, the king, is confident he will make his proud wife jealous to the bone by riding beside a beautiful human who the fairies have raised for the occasion. Of course, queen Oonagh won’t just sit there with her arms crossed and she plans to hand her over to the Lord of Averno.

And around these two characters, a twisted plot will thicken, dripping in humour and magic. Marina will have to take the place of her sister in order to save her life, because she has been bewitched, but the fairies are not exactly loyal, reliable beings; in addition to meeting Patrick in person, she will have to seduce him in order to present him to the queen of the fairies, who is besotted with the human; at the English school, she’ll meet C.C. by chance, who will become her main ally in order to discover the secrets of the magic world. Meanwhile, evil pixies will make their life impossible almost driving them mad. There are assassination attempts, murders, practical jokes, kidnappings, there is magic, confusion and reality, all coming together on a magical summer’s night.
