Maite Carranza

Born in Barcelona in 1958 she has a degree in Geography and History. She combines teaching literature with the creation of scripts mostly for TV. Her literary career began in 1987 when she won the Serra d’Or Critics Prize which was followed by several others including, Folch i Torres (1987), the Joaquim Ruyra (1999) and the Edebé Prize 2002 - which she won for a second time in 2010 with "Palabras envenenadas" [Poisoned Words]. She writes mainly for young adults and has more than 40 published titles; she has also published a novel for adults, "Sin Inveierno" [Without Winter] (Destino, 1999).
