The Twice Upon a Time collection is a second chance to tell well-loved traditional tales without sexism, inequality and violence. This makes total sense when we see how they can deconstruct the original stories and their myths and prejudices: the weak, submissive and skinny princesses, and the princes who make all the decisions and get to have the adventures; the witches who are seen as wicked, not wise; and the belief that romantic love is all we need. We offer new models of women and men that we hope will become the references for equality for boys and girls. Twice Upon a Time Sleeping Beauty tells the story of a young woman, who on this occasion is given three gifts that are worth having, and instead of being rescued by the kiss of a handsome prince, rescues him from his plight by fighting the dragon herself.
