Andrés Guerrero Sánchez was born in Trujillo, Cáceres, in 1958. He got his love of books from childhood and his family, when for instance his grandmother would read to him while he made coffee, and his dream was to be an illustrator, "Becoming a writer or an illustrator was a decision I never made, it just happened. Being an author or an illustrator are circumstances we don't choose, at least I didn't; it was unavoidable" he confirmed at the Museum of Illustrators SOL. He started by publishing humorous comic strips in magazines, and moved on to the graphic world of cartoons, then years later he began to illustrate children's books, including his own. He is a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines, and in 2009 he won the CCEI Illustration Award for Five Little Sheep, published by SM in the El Barco de Vapor collection.
