After receiving his honours degree in Architecture from Los Andes University and working in Colombia as an architect, photographer and editor, Alejandro Bahamón (1972) moved to Barcelona in 1997 to develop a Ph.D. programme at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona.
He has collaborated as an architect with various architectural firms in Barcelona developing a wide range of projects, from single family houses to large-scale urban projects. He participated in the study for the new tram route of Barcelona, the visiting plan for the archaeological site of Empuries, the pedestrian connection between Parque del Putxet and Parc Güell, among other projects.
In 2000 he set up his own architectural office based in Barcelona, where he has developed design and architectural projects that he has combined with publishing work. His architectural practice has been recognized in the exhibition “40, Young Architects in Catalonia” and was one of the finalists in the 2003 edition of the FAD prizes. He has also collaborated as a writer, co-editor and editor in publications for Axxis magazine, Barcelona School of Architecture, Gustavo Gili and Loft Publications. In 2003 he launched EDITA, his own publishing firm specialised in architecture, landscape and design.
