イタリア・ミラノで生まれ。ラテン語、ギリシャ語、サンスクリット語などの古典語を学ぶ。2002年よりスペインのマタロに住み、スペイン語、カタルーニャ語、中国語などの言語を学んだ。異なる言語で考えることは、世界や人を新たな視点で見ることにつながると語る。本作品は作者の言語や執筆、旅に対する情熱から生まれたものといえる。その他の仕事としては、子どもや青年向けの絵本を編集したり、編集や執筆に関する講座を開いたり、児童・青年向け文学専門の雑誌に記事を書いたりしている。

Arianna Squilloni (Mailand, 1976) kommt aus Italien, wo sie lateinische und griechische Philologie studiert und über philosophische Logik promoviert hat. Nach Abschluss ihres Studiums spezialisierte sie sich auf Lektorat und Redaktionsleitung.

Arianna Squilloni (Milán, 1976) comes from Italy where she studied Latin and Greek completing her thesis on Philosophical Logic. Once she finished her university studies she took up a career in publishing and publishing management.
