1995年に第1回漫画サロン新人賞を受賞して一躍有名となり、カマレオン出版から『B3』をシリーズで刊行。シリーズ自体は未完に終わったが、ユーモア・ジャンルで読者に高評価を得ることを証明。するとすぐに、様々な漫画雑誌からギャグマンガの注文を受けるようになった。「ディブス！」のような子ども向けの雑誌では、シュールレアリズムに近い作風をソフトなものにした。
