ディエス・デル・コラール=イ=ペドルッソは、1911年ログローニョに生まれ、1998年マドリードで没している。法学者、作家、政治学者で、1943年3月から1949年4月まで国会議員も務めた。マドリード中央大学（現在のマドリード・コンプルテンセ大学）で法学を学び、ベルリン大学とフライブルク大学に留学経験がある。マドリード・コンプルテンセ大学の教授、雑誌「西洋の雑誌」の編集者、内閣の法律担当、3つの王立アカデミーの会員（科学哲学及び政治学アカデミー。ここでは代表も務めた。王立サン・フェルナンド美術アカデミー、王立歴史アカデミー）。さらにソルボンヌ大学では名誉学位を授与。
