スペイン人セルバンテス=サアベドラによって書かれた小説。第１部の初版は1605年初頭に『才智あふれた郷士ドン・キホーテ・デ・ラ・マンチャ』の題名で出版された。スペイン文学及び世界文学を代表する作品で、最も多く翻訳された本のひとつ。1615年に『才智あぶれた郷士ドン・キホーテ・デ・ラ・マンチャ後篇』と題する第2部が出た。滑稽な描写によって騎士道や宮廷の伝統を脱神話化した最初の作品。最初の現代小説とされる。
