ヘルマン・マチャード（ウルグアイのモンテビデオ生まれ）は、バルセロナ郊外のビック在住で、児童書専門店「アル・パティット・トラゾール」を営む。書店主で作家、文化活動にも携わる。著作に、児童及び一般読者向け文学、詩、絵本などがあり、作品はラテンアメリカとスペインで出版されている。2010年にALIJA(IBBYアルゼンチン支部)賞（詩部門）受賞。
