ビオレタ・モンレアルはオビエド生まれ。美術の学士号を取得後、作家、イラストレーターとして多くの作品を手がけ、また国連の活動にも協力して、いくつものプロジェクトのイラストを担当。作品は米国、日本、韓国、フランス、ポルトガル、イタリア、ギリシア、さらには中南米の国々でも出版されている。主な受賞歴は2001年のCCEI（スペインカトリック児童委員会）最優秀イラストコンクールファイナリスト、2002年同オナーリスト、2002年第26回サロン・デル・リブロ賞（児童書推進への貢献に対して）、2003年CCEI最優秀イラストコンクールオナーリスト、2011年CCEIイラスト賞。

Violeta Monreal wurde in Oviedo geboren. Sie hat Kunst studiert und ist Autorin und Illustratorin zahlreicher Werke. Sie hat sogar mit der UNO bei der Illustration verschiedener Projekte zusammengearbeitet.
