出産場所が家庭から病院になり、子どもたちはお産を目にしなくなった。粉ミルクは母親による授乳の文化を家庭から追いだしてしまった。現在、学校で与えられるお産に関する情報はあるにはあるが乏しく、家庭で与えられる情報も、社会がお産に対して持つネガティブで不自然な見方の影響を間違いなく受けている。よって出産のプロセスについて、大半の子どもは無知をひけらかし、偏見に満ちた間違った考えを持っている。だからこそ、前衛的な楽しい絵と文で自然な視点から子どもたちにお産のことを話す必要があると私たちは考えた。
