児童書出版社に25年勤務し海外の絵本を日本で、日本の絵本を海外で出版する仕事に携わる。海外出版した絵本は100万冊を超え、『らくがき絵本』（五味太郎）や『りんごかもしれない』（ヨシタケシンスケ）などは多くの言語で出版され、長く世界中で愛されている。編集を担当した「リサとガスパール」シリーズとの出合いは1999年初めて参加したボローニャブックフェア。多くのタイトルが日本で翻訳出版され大人気絵本となった。近年は独立し（株）aima設立。
