Carmen Gurruchaga is a graduate of Information Science, and began her professional life in San Sebastián, working for the newspaper Diario Unidad, and later for Diario 16.
In 1989 she was involved in the establishment of the newspaper El Mundo. With expert knowledge of ETA’s terrorism, she has been very combative towards the group through the media, and on the 22 December 1997, her home was the target of an attempted explosives attack.
Her published books include El Árbol y las Nueces: la Relación Secreta entre ETA y PNV (2000), with Isabel San Sebastián; Los Jefes de ETA (2001); Los Complices de ETA (2004) and El Fin de ETA (2006). The Proof (La Prueba) is her first novel.
