SYNOPSIS

In a carpet from India a journalist finds a message from the child who wove it. It's a plea for help, a desperate cry he cannot ignore. Though there are millions of children being expoited all over theworld, this message comes with a name, Iqbal, and from a specific place, the city of Madurai. A trip to the shop where he bought the carpet brings the hero up against the plight of children sold into slavery by their parents. He must decide what a westerner can do when faced with the unknown and a world that permits child slavery. Faithful to his principles, he rescues nine children. The story's unexpected ending, full of power and courage, is a hymn to the hope that society may meet the challenge of wiping out child exploitation.
