Barcelona, Novemebr 1909. The naked body of a young priest, Gabriel Martín turns up in the Cathedral district. He has been murdered and there are strange marks on his back that resemble wings. Inspector Ignasi Requenses is given the task of investigating. But, who could be responsible? Father Martín had many pious high society women among his parishioners, as well as workers from the Pueblo Nuevo factory and people from the Pekín barracks. Many believe that the father might really have been an angel; very few knew the true, complex personality of the deceased. Why was his body left that way, naked in the early hours? Could it be a set up by the authorities to draw attention away from events of the 'Tragic Week'? And what are those strange marks on his back?
