PhD in Hispanic Philology. Professor at Instituto Cervantes, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (Santander), University of California (Berkeley), University of Philippines (Diliman), Université Lumière Lyon II. In 1998 and 1999 he coordinated several projects at Instituto Cervantes. He has been Academic Head at Instituto Cervantes in Fez and at Instituto Cervantes in Lyon. At present, he is responsible for the Certificates of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) at the Lyon centre. Author of books and articles, he has also lectured on artistic, historical, linguistic, literary and educational issues.
