A sordid yet poetic novel that tells the story of a rock group and the personal relationships between its members from the perspective of a groupie who ends up joining the band. A love story about the relationship between the protagonist and the leader of the band, where music, drugs, sex, prostitution and characters who live life to the limit and flirt with the edge of the abyss all play a big part. 'Peter would sing and play and run his group like he was leading an army, and each song was an attack on the palace, each song was an outburst of fury, each song was a cry out to a frenetic, terrible, invincible crowd and we all noticed it, the audience were all crazy, we all felt capable of heading out of there and doing absolutely anything.'
