'Piso Compartido' ('Flatshare') is an interior novel. A comedy of manners combining magic, memory and daily life. The author interweaves the lives of five ladies with rich memories and experiences with that of a girl who doesn't really know how or why she came to be in the flat the ladies share. The young protagonist joins in with the ladies' rituals, classifying books and words, helping at the makeshift hair salon which pops up in the living room every Friday so they can touch-up their purple-rinsed hair-dos, joining in the lengthy conversations around the table that follow every meal and, most of all, listening to the stories that the flat-mates share. Instagram and needlework, visits to distant countries and the songs of yesteryear mix together in this written portrait of women's communication and coexistence.
