Everyone has heard of Moby Dick; ever since Herman Melville gave him life, he has become a source of inspiration for every branch of art over generations. For the first time, in the hands of the best authors and illustrators in the country, an extensive pictorial and literary study has been done of one of the most feared figures in the ocean. The book is split into three parts, the first concerning the origin of the legend and the novel's author, including valuable notes on his life that help us better to understand the book's genesis. The second part examines Moby Dick in more depth, with interpretations, marine leviathans, enigmas from the deep and unsolved mysteries. The last, and no less interesting, part, is made up of all the artistic representations of this giant of the sea, from illustrations to film adaptations, by way of comics and 19th century paintings. A real pleasure.
