A group of Westerners living in Egypt set out on a journey to the Libyan Desert in February 2006, during the 'Cartoon Controversy'. They are following the trail of Rohlfs, the German explorer who had striven to find the legendary oasis of Zerzura. Their trip is disrupted by the appearance of an enigmatic personage who puts their moral codes, confidence and equilibrium to the test. Is he the guide who will lead them to the lost route or an Islamic terrorist hunting for Western prey? Unable to find answers to these questions, they are gripped by fear, and their journey changes from a pleasure trip into a dangerous adventure where suspicion and menace battle with individual responsibility and moral values.
