From now on there will be five of them in the house: five toothbrushes in the bathroom, five plates on the table. And the flat smells different. Jan is trying to work out why her parents didn't smile when they delivered the news: their grandparents Joan and Caterina are coming to live with them, in their flat in Barcelona. Now the house will fill with silences which Jan will attempt to decipher with the help of her grandfather. And gradually, over the course of walks full of questions and answers, with the company of trees, we will discover how memories are made, how they are preserved and how they are lost. Caught between the great city and the village of only 500 inhabitants, Vilaverd, the frenetic pace of her parents' lives and her grandparents' slower pace, Jan pursues the story of a mysterious weeping willow that her grandfather had guarded since his childhood.
