SYNOPSIS

In this brilliant essay, which explores the limits of the multitude and reveals the cryptic processes that shape us, Férnandez Mallo traces a genealogy of an infinitely expanding capitalism, starting from the concept of the being as an incomplete entity, blurred from the body’s very first interaction with its surroundings. This essay suggests that the same mechanisms are at work on the Internet, a space which gathers all individuals’ countable data into one anonymous mass, and which, using algorithms and at unimaginable speed, generates a ghost identity for each of us, an accumulation of statistical data processed by bots which influence our emotions and decisions. And so Fernández Mallo reveals that, in spite of what we may think, the capitalism of today is far from being abandoned or superseded.
