New York, end of the 20th century. A young Spanish couple discover the great city, the contrast between the glitz and glamour of cinema and the harshness of daily life, the fragility of a personal identity still in construction and the greatest pain of love that seemed invincible. The bitter, cynical gaze of experience falls on them: a woman with a traumatic political past and the voice of an old writer, loaded with guilt, confusion and nostalgia for a paradise never inhabited but glimpsed thanks to the notes of an old Caribbean tune: The Beautiful Cuban.
