Ricard Rosenthal is a young university lecturer scarred by personal tragedy. Fleeing the pain, he sets out for a small town in Mallorca to investigate the recent disappearance of a young woman, his pupil. In the company of  a local historian who is full of surprises, Ricard is drawn into a whirlpool of secrets and misunderstandings, ancient legends and current, disturbing truths. Obsessed with solving the mystery no one can understand, he will have to confront the innermost fears that are eating away at him and the ghosts of what is no longer a peaceful, placid town.
