Vicent Flor (Valencia, 1971) is a publisher and cultural promoter. He has a PhD in sociology and a degrees in political science and anthropology. He was curator of the Valencian Museum of Illustration and Modernity (1998-2015) and has been director of the Institución Alfons el Magnànim since 2016. He is a supernumerary professor at the University of Valencia. His essays include Nuevas glorias en España. Anticatalanismo e identidad valenciana (‘New Glories in Spain; Anti-Catalanism and valencian identity’), Sociedad anónima. Los valencianos, el dinero y la política (’Anonymous Society; Valencians, money and politics’) and Nosotros somos el Valencia. Fútbol, poder e identidades (‘We Are Valencia; Football, power and identities’). This book, El carrer de baix (‘The Street Below’) won the XLIII Premio Joanot Martorell and is his first novel.
