Salvador Macip (Blanes, Girona, 1970) is a medical doctor trained at the University of Barcelona, a research scientist and a writer. In 1998 he moved to New York to research the molecular basis of cancer at Mount Sinai hospital. Since 2008 he has continued his research at the University of Leicester, where he leads a group researching cell death and is a professor in the Department of Biochemistry. He has published various books for both adults and children.
