Raúl Eguizábal
Raúl Eguizábal

Raúl Eguizábal teaches Theory and History of Advertising at the Faculty of Information Science in Madrid and is a professor at UCM. He is the author of Historia de la publicidad (History of Advertising), Fotografía publicitaria (Advertising Photography) and Teoría de la publicidad (Theory of Advertising). As well as his academic work, he is an art critic and literary writer. He has worked as a literary critic for Diario 16. He has curated several exhibitions, such as "A hundred years of commercial art in Spain", "Memory of seduction. 19th century posters at the Biblioteca Nacional" and "The circus in Spanish art". His books also include The Nature of Imposture, The Uncut Book, Robinson of the Thousand Islands and History of the Price Circus and other Circuses of Madrid. His latest, Industries of Conscience. A Social History of Publicity in Spain, was published by Peninsula in 2009.
