Rafael Jiménez was born in Barcelona. He is a detective inspector in the National Police Force and has also edited and co-authored two anthologies of the best cases undertaken by that force: Barcelona negra (Barcelona Noire; Planeta, 2009) and España negra (Spain Noire; Planeta, 2011). As a single author, he has published the hate trilogy, composed of Inchaurrondo Blues (Principal de los Libros, 2013), El Blues de Garibaldi (Principal de los Libros, 2015) and The Hanged Woman in the Land of Wind.
