Sabino Perea Yébenes is Titular Profesor of Ancient History at UNED (the National Distance Learning University). He is head of the Ancient History Department. His primary research interests are the study of the Roman army and the Imperial era, based on epigraphic documents. He is editor and editor in chief of the Aqvila Legionis series of textbooks about the Roman army. His other academic interests include the study of Greco-Roman religions (primarily popular beliefs and magic), the political and economic history of the Roman world, and Ancient Greek civilisation. He edits various series of text books about the ancient world for Editorial Signifer Libros (see: signiferlibros.com). He is the author of more than 150 academic articles, has published fifteen books as the sole author, served as editor for ten and has translated half a dozen different languages. He has two new books due for release in 2023.
