Pablo Gutiérrez was selected by Granta as one of its best young Spanish language writers soon after the publication of his first novel, Rosas, restos de alas (Roses, Remains of Wings; La Fábrica, 2008), which was awarded the Tormenta best new author prize. Since then, he has continued to publish with great success, while also teaching, giving talks and participating in roundtable discussions. This is his first novel aimed at young readers, as a tribute to his students.
