With a degree in art history and another in geography and history, Marisa López used to work as a teacher, a public center director, and a training advisor in teachers center (CPRs), but now she is a full time of poetry and literature for children and young adults. Her books have received several awards, among them the MECD National Narrative Award and the Lazarillo Prize. She has been translated into various exotic languages. Her Encouragement to Reading and Writing workshops are famous, and she has been a visiting author in several institutions, the Cervantes Institutes among them. Four school libraries in the Murcia region bear her name.
