María J. Cuesta is a magician of words and colour. She is the founder and director of Letrimagia’s Hechizos Mágicos, a creative school based around books and art where magic and imagination run wild among dragons and magic wands, enchanted forests, and take trips through time, make potions and much, much more. In 2020 she won the City of Marbella children’s fiction prize. Among her most well-known books are: “¡Initium magia!” (Begin the magic!) and” ¡Initium Pociones!” (Begin the potion-making!), both published by Esfera; “Una varita mágica para Dulce” (A magic wand for Dulce) telling the story of a blind and deaf girl with butterfly ears; and the hilarious story of “Los piratas en Japón” (The pirates in Japan).
