Born in Galicia (Spain), graduated in Law from the Universidad Central and in Journalism from the Escuela Oficial de Madrid.
An all-terrain journalist, he was a correspondent in Italy for the newspaper MADRID and for the radio Cadena SER for eight years; editor of NUEVO DIARIO; director and chief editor of RTVE, where he led the weekly report HOY POR HOY, the debate programme TRIBUNA DE LA HISTORIA, the news programme TELEDIARIO (First Edition) and LA VÍSPERA DE NUESTRO TIEMPO.
