Luis Goytisolo (Barcelona, 1935) achieved fame with his first novel, The Outskirts, and he has become one of the most highly regarded names in contemporary fiction. He is the author of essential works such as Antagony, Fables, Statue with Pigeons (Siruela, 2009), Liberation and 360º Diary (Siruela, 2010). Member of the Real Academia Española, he has been awarded, among other prizes, the National Prize for Literature and the Critics' Prize.
