Luis Álvarez González was born in Jerez de la Frontera on 28th July 1952. He was a teacher for 35 years specialising in Mathematics and later in Physical Education. At present he works with the Delegation for Football in Jerez as a subdelegate of the Coaching School. He has always wanted to be a writer but retirement was the impetus enabling him to devote himself fully to writing. "Learn Chess for Yourself" is his first book.
