Juan Ramón Barat (Valencia, 1959) works across all literary genres and has been the recipient of various prizes and awards as a poet, dramatist and fiction author. Younger readers have awarded him the 2014 Premio Hache for best YA novel for Deja en paz a los muertos [Let the Dead Rest in Peace], published in this collection along with its sequels La sepultura 142 [Grave 142], Llueve sobre mi lápida [Rain on My Headstone] and La noche de las gárgolas [Night of the Gargoyles], along with the emotional Clara en la oscuridad [Clara in the Darkness] and the thrilling La Perla de Sanzio [The Pearl of Sanzio].
