Juan Ramón Azuar Romero was born in 1965 in Canillas de Albaida (Malaga), and currently lives in Molins de Rei (Barcelona). He has a degree in history. His profesional life has been focused on education, working as a teacher, designing programs and resources for various companies and institutions and educational activities for use in primary and secondary settings and also in universities. While undertaking this work, he received a grant from the Fundació Enciclopèdia Catalana for a previously unpublished essay on the teaching of culture, and he has also published articles on his specialism both in historical magazines and specialist education media. El vertigo del trapecista (‘The Trapeze Artist’s Vertigo’) is his first published novel.
