Jon Agiriano (Bilbao, 1964) started working for the newspaper El Correo in 1986 and contributed to the Features pages until 1997, when he joined the Sports section as a columnist writing about Athletic de Bilbao. During his career, he has covered the Olympic Games, the World Cup and UEFA championships. Awarded the Arturo Blasco and Vocento journalism prizes, he is the author of a collection of columns 'A Question of Pride: the 24 Cups of Althletic Club', the novel 'la noche vencedora' (The Conquering Night) and was a finalist for the Premio Euskadi de Literatura in 2005. His most recent book is 'Lo mejor del fútbol' (The Best of Football).
