Joan Lluís Lluís

An author whose personal story makes him stand out from many other writers of his generation. Among others, his publications include 'El dia de l’ós' ('The Day of the Bear') (Winner of the Premi Crexells 2005), which marked a significant step forward on his literary journey. In recent years he has published 'Aiguafang' ('Mudwater') (winner of the 2009 Premi Crítica Serra d’Or), the experimental narrative 'Xocolata desfeta' ('Melted Chocolate') and the novel 'Cròniques d’un déu coix' ('Chronicles of a Lame God') (winner of the 2014 Premi Lletra d’Or). Now, having travelled to nineteenth century New Caledonia with 'El navegant' ('The Navigator') (winner of the 2016 Premi Crítica Serra d'Or) and establishing an alternative reality in which a dictator is killed in 'Jo soc aquell que va matar Franco' ('I'm The One Who's Going to Kill Franco') (winner of the 2018 Premi Sant Jordi), Lluís has taken another significant step with 'Junil' (Club Editor), in which he tells the story of a young woman from the edge of the Roman empire who is unappreciated by her father and defies expectation by learning to read before setting off on foot for unknown lands.
