Jesus Martinez (Barcelona, 1975). He is a reporter, with a PhD in journalism from the Ramon Llull University (URL), as well as a degree in journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). His neighbor and fellow writer Francesc Candel, whom he frequently visited, left him with a priceless piece of advice, which simply comes down to honesty in journalism. He worked for the local magazines La Marina dels barris de Zona Franca, L'Informatiu de Sants, Hostafrancs i La Bordeta, and La veu del carrer, and has collaborated in the Sunday edition of El Periódico de Catalunya and La Vanguardia. He won the Manuel Alcántara journalism prize, awarded by Diario Sur, as well as the King of Spain International Journalism Prize in the category of International Cooperation and Humanitarian Action. Since 2000, he has written the TVE cultural show Saber y ganar. He also has a master’s degree in journalism from the Ramon Llull University.
