Ignacio del Valle

(Oviedo, 1971) He lives in Madrid and devotes himself entirely to literature. He has a weekly column in the newspaper El Comercio and contributes to El viajero in El País, among other publications. He currently edits the cultural section "Afinando los sentidos" on Onda Cero. He is the author of the historical thriller series starring Arturo Andrade, which consists of five novels: El arte de matar dragones [The Art of Slaying Dragons], El tiempo de los emperadores extraños [The Time of the Strange Emperors - made into a film as Silence in the Snow], Los demonios de Berlín [The Demons of Berlín], Los días sin ayer [The Days without Yesterday] and Soles negros [Black Suns], all published by Alfaguara. He has also published the novels De donde vienen las olas [Where the Waves Come From] (1999), El abrazo del boxeador [The Boxer's Embrace] (2001), Cómo el amor no transformó el mundo [How Love Didn't Transform the World] (2005), Busca mi rostro [Look for My Face] (2012), Índigo mar [Indigo Sea] (2017), and the short story collection Caminando sobre las aguas [Walking on Water] (2013). His literary works have won several awards and have been translated into several languages.
