Hugo Francisco Bauzá is a professor at the Universidad de Buenos Aires. A well-known specialist in Virgil and classical literature, he is the author of numerous works among which the most notable are: El imaginario clásico: edad de oro, utopia y Arcadia (Classical Imagery: The Golden Age, Utopia and Arcadia, 1993), Voces y visiones: Poesía y representación en el mundo antiguo (Voices and Visions: Poetry and representation in the ancient world, 1997), El mito del héroe: Morfologia y semántica de la figura heroica (The Myth of the Hero: The morphology and semantics of the heroic figure, 1998) and Qué es un mito: Una aproximación a la mitología clásica (What Is a Myth? An approach to classical mythology, 2005).
