Héctor Borlasca, the illustrator, was born in 1963 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started studying to be a lawyer, but discovered his true passion was illustrating. He began a career as a graphic designer and then became an illustrator. Héctor published his first illustration in Argentina at the age of 19. His work has appeared in publicity campaigns, magazines, newspapers and text books in several countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay., and Mexico. Raquel Garrido is the author, is Spanish with a degree in history of art and published her doctoral thesis on book illustration. She divides her working life between teaching at the Superior School of Design in Aragon and writing for children.
