Ginés Sánchez was born in Murcia in 1967 and spent all of her childhood being a skinny kid with glasses who wouldn’t say boo to a goose. Then she studied Law and became a lawyer. But she got bored and so she stopped and went to see the world. She worked in all sorts of places while travelling and as she wended her way she got in training for the moment when she would write. And then she got down to it. Ginés has written several books for ‘adults’ and The sea behind is her debut novel for children. At present she splits her time between writing and teaching creative writing at the Club Renacimiento. And when she’s allowed, she dreams about sea turtles.
