Sotoo was born in Fukuoka, Japan. He is a sculptor, and visiting professor at Kyushu University User Science Institute, School of Engineering, and Ambassador of Kesennuma, Rias Sanriku (Japan). Since 1978 he has been working on the Sagrada Familia of Barcelona, making various sculptures, designing the doors that will be installed in the Fachada del Nacimiento and restoring the sculptures of the Puerta del Rosario. He works on the design for the tubular bells Gaudí planned to install in the church's bell towers. He is also the author of, among others, a commemorative monument signed by Louis Vuitton in Barberà del Vallès, as well as the sculpture of San Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer for Montalegre church, Barcelona. In Japan he is the author of The old man and the little girl and Birth in the Chohachi Art Museum, Matsuzaki, as well as Five elements in the Fukuoka Institute.
