Begoña Huertas (Gijón 1965) has published the collection of short stories A Tragos and the novels Déjenme dormir en paz and Por eso envejecemos tan deprisa. She won the Casa de las Américas prize for Ensayo de un cambio: la narrativa cubana en la década de los 80. She holds a PHD in Hispanic Philology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and has worked as a reader and editor for several publishing houses. Begoña currently spends her time teaching and is part of the permanent teaching staff at the Hotel Kafka writing centre, Madrid.
