Carracedo Gómez was born in León in 1965. She has a degree in Biology and is a music teacher, writer, poet, editor, spoken word poet and storyteller. She began her working life as a teacher and has run Amidown, León's Down's Syndrome association for many years. She coordinated 'Verso en nubes', the Ayuntamiento de León's first children's poetry festival. She also works for the León public libraries program to promote reading. An active promoter of culture, Carracedo Gómez puts on book presentations, storytelling sessions and workshops throughout Spain at fairs, literary salons, schools, daycare centres, libraries, bookshops, bars and in town squares. Since 2012 she has run her own publishing company, Amigos de papel, (Special Employment Centre where people with disabilities work). She has published the children's picture books 'Oto y Oli' ('Oto and Oli') and 'Leyenda de in beso' ('The Legend of a Kiss') and numerous pieces for adults in magazines and collaborative anthologies.
