Ángeles Vargas was born on a Saturday in August, in Chile, Santiago, in 1980. When she had grown a little she started reading (everything) and drawing (everything), both of which she still does to this day. She is an illustrator who designs books and travels here and there providing figures, colours and shapes for different editorial projects. She has illustrated many books for children of all ages, and written a couple of them too. Her books have travelled as far as Spain, Italy and Venezuela, and soon they will also go to China and Brazil. Her work has been honoured with a Premio Amster Coré (2013); selected for the White Ravens catalogue (2016); at the Bratislava Ilustration Bienniel (2013) and in the Ibby Honor List (2009). Her favourite season is winter. She is the joint author, with Ángeles Quintero, of 'One Year ...Poems for Following the Seasons.
